Is fall weather starting to give you shivers? Warm up with one of these great South Bend cafes.

There's nothing like a hot cup of coffee on a brisk fall day. Fortunately, there's no shortage of local cafes in South Bend! Here are a few local cafes our real estate agents recommend. Visit one after touring South Bend homes for sale and get acquainted with all your new neighborhood has to offer.

  • The Local Cup
Want to warm up, caffeinate, and do something you can feel good about at the same time? Visit South Bend's The Local Cup, a not-for-profit, volunteer-run, pay-it-forward coffee shop where you pay what you want. You may find your coffee has already been paid for by the previous customer, in which case you can pay for the next person's coffee! The Local Cup supports local suppliers, so everything from the coffee beans and milk in your coffee to the pastries that complement it were sourced locally. The Local Cup is located at 1009 Portage Ave in South Bend. Their hours are limited, so check their Facebook page before heading down.

  • Zen Cafe Coffee Roasters
If you love specialty roasted coffees, you'll love Zen Cafe. This local coffee shop prides itself in transparently sourced and expertly roasted coffee beans. Taste the difference for yourself when you stop in for a latte or buy a bag of beans to take home. Zen Cafe is located at 530 East Lasalle Avenue in South Bend, with the entrance located on Hill Street. They are open 8 am to 6 pm on weekdays and until 4 pm on the weekends.

  • DeLo's Cafe
Another cafe for coffee aficionados, DeLo's Cafe prides themselves on their coffee beans, roasted in small batches to ensure the beans you buy are still fresh when you take them home. Buy your beans to be enjoyed at home, or order a cup to enjoy at their location inside the South Bend Farmer's Market, located at 1105 Northside Boulevard. DeLo's Cafe is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 7 am to 3pm and sells a variety of teas, caramel treats, and popcorn in addition to coffee.

  • Sway Coffee
If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, modern coffee shop, Sway Coffee is for you! Their many-windowed coffee shop offers plenty of seating and free wifi as well as a variety of coffee drinks, juices, smoothies, and food options. Stop in to enjoy some coffee, meet with friends, or enjoy a change of scenery while you get some work done. Sway is located at 527 East Colfax Avenue in South Bend and is open 7:30 to 3 pm on Monday, 7:30 to 8 pm Tuesday through Friday, and 9 am to 8 pm on Saturday.

  • Chicory Cafe
For something a little different than your average coffee shop, check out Chicory Cafe. This cafe's menu includes not only coffee, but also a full menu of food, and everything is served up New Orleans style. Enjoy New Orleans-style chicory coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and breakfast all day, with NOLO favorites such as fresh, hot beignets and po' boy breakfast sandwiches. Chicory Cafe is sure to be an experience unlike any other, as they take the classic coffee shop to the next level with a wide variety of food, drinks, and live music. Located at 105 East Jefferson Boulevard in South Bend, Chicory Cafe is open Monday through Wednesday from 7:30 am until 3 pm, Thursday and Friday until 8 pm, and Saturdays 9 am until 4 pm.

Cafes are a staple of fall, like pumpkin spice and cozy sweaters. The great thing about South Bend is that the city has many to choose from! For more information about our local community, or to start the process of finding your dream home in South Bend, contact us today.
